Committee Begins Planning for Ag Center Opening
Building may be completed by May 1
by Helena Linn

Though the new Ag Center is under construction at the Marbleton Fair Grounds, the Ag Center Committee is moving ahead with event planning. Last Fall, the county commissioners appointed Lance Koppenhafer of Pinedale, and Kent Keller and John Copeland, both of Big Piney, to the serve as the first Ag Center Committee. At the January Meeting, Mr. Koppenhafer was elected Committee Chairman, Mr. Keller will serve as Secretary, and Mr. Copeland is Treasurer.

Tuesday's Ag Center Committee meeting was centered on developing guidelines for expected use of the facility. The guidelines and rules for the use of the building are still being completed.

On Tuesday, the Committee appointed volunteer Annie Espenscheid to serve as event coordinator and scheduler for the building. Annie outlined her plan for keeping everyone informed about scheduled use and times available for private use. She told the Committee a cutting event has already been scheduled for Memorial Day weekend and it may be the first major event at the Ag Center following the building's opening.

Whether it is a 4-H training, a company safety meeting, an Easter egg hunt, or some spectacular event, the Ag Center Committee encourages folks to use and enjoy this latest addition to the County's fairgrounds. The committee's next meeting will be Wednesday, February 23 in Pinedale.
