Public Radio Could Be On Air by June 1
WPR transmitter will be located on the Mesa's Mount Airy
by Rob Shaul

Pinedale could have its own Wyoming Public Radio (WPR) transmitter in a little over a month. Dave Worely, Manager of Broadcasting and Media Engineering for the University of Wyoming, said Monday that WPR's 450-watt Pinedale transmitter will be located on Mount Airy, which overlooks Pinedale from the Mesa.

Mr. Morely will have a crew in town next week to begin site prep for the transmitter. He said crucial winter range road restrictions will prevent the concrete pad needed for the transmitter from being built until May 1 at the earliest. Weather and contractors permitting, Mr. Morely said the new transmitter could be providing WPR to Pinedale and Sublette County as soon as June 1. "We want to get this one done and on the air," he concluded.
