Real estate inflation increased substantially in the northern part of Sublette County from 1998-1999 according to figures from the Sublette County Assessor's office.

According to the figures, the average sale price of a home in Pinedale in 1998 was $90,820. In 1999, the average sale price of a Pinedale home had risen to $118,782, an increase of 31%. Twenty-three Pinedale homes exchanged owners in 1999.

Home sale prices were also up in the communities surrounding Pinedale such as Daniel, Cora and Boulder. In 1998, the average sale price for a home in these areas was $136,984. By 1999, this figure had increased to $169,228.

Further, according to County Assessor Janet Montgomery, not only was the average sales price up, the size of homes being built in the northern end of the county has also increased. In years past, Ms. Montgomery said the average size of a home in Pinedale was between 1,000 to 1,200 square feet - "the typical Redstone home." However, in 1999, 13 of the 23 homes that sold in Pinedale were greater than 1,500 square feet in size.

In the areas surrounding Pinedale, 14 of the 28 homes that sold in 1999 were greater than 1,500 square feet in size.
